Background:
Chris grew up in the greater Corning, NY area and the Finger Lakes Region. He is 43 years old and is passionate about his fields of hiking and camping. He believes that when he takes a group out that they expect and deserve an enjoyable experience.
Chris spent eight years in the active military service with 3 overseas tours, participated in Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this time frame is when he learned his extensive skills in land navigation, map reading, hiking, and other related survival skills. He can also speak some German and Korean.
Other hobbies: Fishing, Woodworking, Bird Watching, Plant Identification, and Star Gazing (His version of amateur astronomy).

NY State guides are define as the following by the NY DEC:
"The licensing of outdoor guides is regulated by the New York State Forest Rangers. In general terms, a guide is a person, at least eighteen years of age, who offers services for hire part or all of which includes directing, instructing or aiding another in fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, whitewater rafting and canoeing, or rock and ice climbing. Individuals engaging in the business of guiding on all lands and waters of the state shall possess a license issued by the department."
